TOP 10 EUROPEAN PARTY SPOTS

#9 HVAR, CROATIA

PIC: 'Hula Hula' at sunset

At first glance, the island of Hvar doesn't seem like a party place. By day, it's a fairly laidback place where visitors and locals alike seem more than content to soak up the rays on what is, officially, Croatia's sunniest place.

When the sun goes down, however, Hvar Town comes alive!

The festivities start at 'Hula Hula'. This waterside venue faces directly out towards one of Europe's most stunning sunsets. The sun is not the only thing going down, however, with cocktails being sunk at alarming rates as mellow grooves fill the air.

The party then moves closer to the port where bars like 'Kiva', 'Nautica' and 'Carpe Diem' kick it up a notch. Everything shuts down around midnight, but this crafty town has a secret.

When its port location closes, anyone who wants to continue partying is transported to a smaller island off the coast of Hvar to 'Carpe Diem Beach Club' – a magnificent, open-air nightclub where some of the best DJs in Europe spin their wheels.

The party here goes on until the sun comes up and we realise why everyone here is so content with a quiet day in the sun and sea.
