TOP 10 EUROPEAN PARTY SPOTS

#8 BARCELONA, SPAIN

PIC: 'Razzmatazz' nightclub

The Catalan capital, caters to night owls like no other city. Whilst the region maintains a certain degree of independence through its status as an autonomous community, it certainly parties with in enthusiastic Spanish fashion.

For many, the night will begin in one of the Las Ramblas tourist traps or in one of the bars along the beach front. The tourist traps are okay, as long as you know what you're getting into, but cheaper options can be found off the main tourist strips.

Alternatively, some will start the night with one of the many backpacker bar crawls that are hawked endlessly during the day.

Then it's onto the clubs.

Clubs in Barcelona don't open til late and don't close til early in the morning – so expect to see the sun in the sky when you emerge at closing time!

The best clubs are on, or near, the beachfront. 'Razzmatazz' is the king of clubs in Barcelona, but other clubs like 'Opium' also have plenty to offer, with all musical tastes catered for.

After over-indulging the night before, you can recover swimming and basking in the sun on the man-made, but quite nice, beach at Barceloneta.
