TOP 10 EUROPEAN PARTY SPOTS

#4 FLORENCE, ITALY

PIC: Florence's 'Central Park' nightclub

When most people think of Tuscany, they think of great artworks (like Michelangelo's 'David'), vineyards and relaxed villas. The Tuscan capital, however, is an intoxicating city full of students and young travellers looking to party til the wee hours.

For this reason, Florence has a particularly thriving nightlife with a wide variety of bars and clubs in the centre of the city and surrounds.

'The Red Garter' on Via de' Benci is a popular choice early in the night with backpackers and English-speaking students. Of course, as everywhere, Florence has its fair share of Irish bars which are also favoured by a similar crowd.

As the night goes on, there are plenty of nightclub choices. The pick is 'Central Park' (about a 15 minute taxi ride out of the centre). In summer, they open up the outdoor area and the club triples in size.

Clubs like 'Central Park' stay open until about 3am, which is quite late in comparison with clubs in the rest of Italy.

It should come as no surprise, being an Italian city, that Florentians (Fiorentini in Italian) dress to impress. So, when venturing out in Florence, one should really make an effort!
